We're under way! Riding the 2013 Tour de Force

William Wates Memorial Trust

The WWMT exists to celebrate the life of William Wates who was tragically killed when travelling in South America. It is a grants giving registered charity set up in 1998 with a mission to help the most disadvantaged young people keep away from a life of crime and violence, and fulfil their potential. This is achieved by supporting charities that engage young people through the mediums of sports, arts and education.

William was aware of his privileged background and was keen to help others – the aims of the trust reflect where his interests would have been if he was alive today.

Since 1998, the Trust has donated over £1.5 m to charities throughout the UK. The goal of the Tour de Force is to raise a further £500,000 per year.
